I have a 7 1 surround setup currently from my onkyo tx nr3009 and need to source some decent flat cable to position under the new carpet.

I ve just moved house and am having new carpet put down in a couple of weeks.
Fish tape is a tool that is often used for routing wires.
Unwind a reel of fish tape and guide it under the carpet.
To do so follow these few steps.
Unwind the wire until it reaches the other side of the room or the location where you want the cable to emerge from the carpet.
I currently use cambridge audio ultra 100 which is far too big a cable for going under the carpet.
Some wires like those coming from your tv can be hidden behind walls or you can run other wires under your carpet.
While wires such as coax can leave a ridge that is noticeable when steeped on others like category 5 cables and speaker wires lay perfectly flat and can be easily hidden.
The easiest way is simply to tuck the wires in under the baseboard along the walls there is a small space between smoothedge the sticks with the nails pointing towards wall and wall even better if there are baseboards which will give more gap for tuckage.
Overlap 6 inches of four conductor flat speaker wire with the exposed end of the fish tape and wrap the junction with electrical tape making the junction as unobtrusive as possible.
I have no attic and no basement or crawlspace to run wires.

Some of the places i have checked for say 14g flat wire were pretty expensive.
Previously i simply stapled the wire to the baseboard but it looked bad and toddlers like to yank them.
I also don t have carpet so i can t just stuff speaker wires under the edges.
I am also curious about running speaker wire under carpet.
Is that flat speaker wire still of the same quality as typical round speaker wire.
